What gets you, What drives you in Music....

So last night I was making a wonderful little baby tutu to match my daughters tutu's for my niece to hopefully wear for the wedding. Now just hoping her mommy approves ;) Anyways as I was cheerfully taking my time to make it extra perfect and adorable my hunny was watching a show on Discovery Channel something about leopards. I just would look up and listen in the background of working, but there was this amazing music in the background that instantly perked me up and brought back so many memories of artists and cultures that I have loved the sound of since I was middle school aged child.

Sounds like when Sting's hit Desert Rose came out, and anything Enigma, and anything in a belly dancing scene from a movie or show, and music from India, Russia, Arabia and even since meeting my SIL hubby from Bosnia and hearing Bosnian music and feeling the need to dance and be at peace hearing those sounds and beats from that type of music. It's amazing how sounds and music can really change your feelings or make you re-act a certain way. Just had to share that tastes come in all forms and sometimes you like certain sounds and music for years and this is my fave all standing type of sounds and background music by far. :)

Praise the LORD! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens! Praise him for his mighty deeds; praise him according to his excellent greatness! Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals! Let everything that has breath praise the LORD! Praise the LORD!
Psalm 150:1-6

In Closing I think there is such of variety of background word-less music and use of any instrument that can be used to dance and sing Praises to the Lord.

Indian Cuisine

Tonight I had the amazing opportunity to work for a new place in Phillips called The Meadows that hosts cooking classes, Art classes, and occasional meals prepared by talented chef's. Tonight the Dinner was made by 3 different families from India that live here and work for our local company called Marquip. I had already known the couples and had known one of them really well they were former hair clients of mine. Great families they had their children helping take drinks out and clear tables and were dressed in their gorgeous outfits from back home.

I felt very blessed to just get to meet a variety of people and to serve them with smiles and light conversation. I also never would of thought I would of gotten the opportunity to try the food, but one of the ladies insisted I tried it, and I never turn down the opportunity to try new foods ;) It was amazing the bright colors and textures of all the wonderful varieties of meats and rices. The flavors were blends of sweets and tangy and spicy a little of everything.

I was thankful for the wonderful evening and experience and thank God for blessing me with the opportunity I sure hope I can help out there again.

Here are some great verses I found inspirational for giving thanks to God:

Colossians 3:17

And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

James 1:17

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.

The Real Me, The new Me...

I recently closed my own pretty successful business and it's been for the better in just about every aspect except for the money part. I would not go back for anything or live just for money. I have thankfully re-found my faith in God and am trusting him everyday to pull me through all of the tough things we have faced in our family life, my personal life, and my relationship with my soon to be hubby, and I am trying to find my identity in life and not the one that the world tries to place on us.

Back to my point there is a light at the end of every hardship you can do anything and everything you want as long as you are doing it for God. You can get through a loss of a precious life, a loss of a business, loss of friendships, loss of worldly possessions, loss of confidence. Life is way beyond what goes on day to day or what we have or don't have, and I know that better then ever now. I strongly believe God has shown me the way and it took me going through a lot that Satan threw at me and I slipped several time,s we all do we aren't perfect, but here I am ready to face the day even though I am not working full-time, don't have all the latest things and clothes, and I could let all the surface things eat at me, but I am choosing to let go and let God decide how to help me as I know he will, he is always there for me, just a thought or prayer away.

In closing my only hope with this new blog is to inspire others to live truly free to get out from underneath those burdens or chains life or Satan has put on you to make you think you can't think for yourself or live for God and to be happy even when times are sooooo tough around you to make you just want to give up. Also I don't think for 1 moment that I am better then anyone or this is not to rub in anyone's face it's just telling my stories of my new life and all I encounter with a great new outlook on life thanks to God.

All things Pink

So with October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I thought I would share some of my favorite Pink things. For starters I am on my 2nd time of an annual tradition of coloring my hair Pink for support and awareness. Pink is by far my favorite color and with all of the Pink things out there this month, it sure reminds me why I love the color. Just for fun here are some of my favorite things in Pink. :)
